In my travels up the Lurkal coast, I came upon a strange sight in the morning mists. A long black dragon with a softy patterned wings emerged from the gray waters. It moved like ink upon the sand, its purple eyes softly glowing.
I was very still for a long while, watching it as it stretched its wings, and licked the salt from its toes. Finally, with a shake of it's wings, it prepared to lift off. I waited in excitement to see it fly, but something caught its eye. Digging in the sand the dragon pulled forth a dead sea star. To my amazement, the dragon stared at it, as if marveling at its red color, then daintily cupped it to its massive chest as it launched up into the mists.

Wolverines are one of my favorite animals here in Alaska. Elusive, tenacious, and tougher than boot leather, these creatures dominate their icy territories with sheer determination and fearlessness. They are so stubborn, even the bears know not to mess with them.
It seemed fitting then to draw the wolverine in a snarling pose, dirt flying and ready to rumble with whatever unfortunate creature that has disturbed its peace. Hidden amidst the fur doodles you will find many things such as, a bear, a wolf, a leather boot, a weasel, a beaver, a caribou, a polar bear, snowshoes, a trap, a raven, a hare, and much more.

The raven has long been in the imagination of people. With its dark, mysterious feathers and a passion for all things shiny, I think it makes sense for us to be so captivated by the creature.
